About Sonare
Leah Edwards, lauded for visionary leadership and a pragmatic approach to business, thrives on harnessing the power of the arts to engage communities. Leah integrates her cross-disciplinary expertise to strengthen missions, deepen connection, and expand impact on the world around her.
A Juilliard-trained soprano (MM) with a Bachelor of Music from the Eastman School of Music and a diploma from Interlochen Arts Academy, Leah forged a unique career path, captivating audiences as an actor, singer, pianist, and dancer. She has enjoyed performing on and off-Broadway, live on National Public Radio, and at music festivals worldwide. She can be heard on numerous original cast recordings, including the most recent revival of George and Ira Gershwin’s Lady, Be Good, and seen in the Emmy-nominated production of Carousel on PBS’ Live From Lincoln Center.
Expanding into arts administration, Leah co-founded HALO, a nonprofit theatre company, where she served as Executive Director for six years. In that role, she gained experience in every aspect of running an organization, as well as having designed and implemented numerous programs that broaden access to the classical arts. Passionate about lifelong learning, Leah earned a certificate in Diversity & Inclusion from Cornell University, further informing her commitment to strengthening community partnerships and engaging underserved audiences.
Working as a consultant, Leah collaborates with nonprofits, businesses, and individuals, guiding clients through event design, artistic programming, strategic planning, and organizational development. Whether she is helping a board set its vision, coaching staff, or designing a performance that elevates a gala, Leah strives to foster empathy, spark dialogue, and inspire imagination through her work.
When not transforming the world through art, Leah can be found ensconced in nature, practicing yoga, running, writing children’s books, summiting very tall peaks, and trail riding with her family.
